What did you do this past week?

This week I met with my team a couple times to start working on phase 1 of the project. Spent quite some time thinking of ideas, but eventually we got to something that we think will work. Just today, we set up our static site on AWS, and it’s now up and running. However I have two exams tomorrow, so it’s gonna be a little difficult for me to find time to work on the project today and tomorrow.

What’s in your way?

My schedule is probably my biggest impediment right now. I have two exams tomorrow, and interviews coming up too. It’s gonna be a little tricky for me to find time to work on the project. Not to mention, it’s exponentially more tricky to coordinate with 5 other people to find time that works for everyone.

What will you do next week?

Next week I plan on getting with my team and finishing designing our API, as well as creating the 14 pages for our site. I also need to study for my other classes, and hopefully apply for more internships for next summer.

What was your experience of types, object models, and iterators? (this question will vary, week to week)

I learned a lot of new things about Python this week, especially about iterators and types. I think it’s cool that Python’s built in way of doing things is naturally so efficient. It was also interesting to learn about the characteristics of some data structures that we went over in lecture this week.

What made you happy this week?

This week I met up with my friend in College Station for his 21st birthday, so that was cool. Always nice to take a break from working and just have some fun.

What’s your pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week?

My pick of the week is probably to use AWS to host and deploy the site for the project. It was so easy and quick for us to get set up.
